Language requirements (English)

All applicants to UAS bachelor’s programmes must prove English language proficiency, including native speakers of English.

For the International UAS Exam selection method, you must prove English either via:

  • An accepted international language test, or
  • Suitable previous studies in English (as defined in the official criteria).

The technical details for Spring 2026 language requirements will be updated on UASinfo, but the core idea remains:

You will not be invited to the International UAS Exam unless your English proficiency has been properly proven and recorded in your Studyinfo application.

Identification documents and deadlines

To participate in the International UAS Exam, you must have a valid, acceptable ID document.

Accepted documents

  • Passport (preferred option)
  • Biometric or non-biometric
  • Passports from all countries are accepted
  • Biometric EU/EEA identity card
  • Must have the biometric symbol
  • Non-biometric ID cards are not accepted

No other documents (residence permits, student cards, non-biometric ID cards, etc.) are accepted.

Your passport or ID card:

  • Must be the same document you use later in the Candour ID pre-identification and on exam day

If the information is incorrect or not provided by the deadlines, you cannot participate in the International UAS Exam and will be removed from that selection method.

Pre-identification (11–13 March 2026)

Before the exam, you must complete pre-identification using the Candour ID application:

  • Use the same passport or biometric ID that you entered in Studyinfo.
  • You must take photos or recordings as instructed.
  • If the automated pre-identification fails, your case may go to manual review by the Vallu entrance examination service.

If your pre-identification is rejected, you will not be able to continue to the exam.

Exam sections, duration and scoring

The entrance exam is conducted in English. The sections you have to complete depend on the study programmes you apply for.

You complete all your required sections in one sitting. The exam includes:

  • Common sections – required for all programmes
  • Field-specific sections – required only for certain fields

Your total score is the sum of the sections included in your study programme.

To be selected, you must:

  • Achieve a minimum pass score in every required section
  • Achieve a sufficiently high total score compared with other applicants

Timing and order

  • Each section has a fixed response time.
  • When the time is up, the section closes automatically and the latest answers are saved.
  • You can choose the order of sections.
  • Once you open a section, you must complete it — you cannot return to it later.
  • There is a total of 15 minutes of transition time between sections.

  • Vallu entrance examination service as the operator

During the exam, monitoring may include:

  • Images from your webcam and external camera
  • Screenshots of your screen
  • Records of open applications and websites
  • Audio recordings

The purpose is to ensure that:

  • You complete the exam independently
  • No unauthorised help or materials are used

You may technically refuse monitoring, but then you cannot be selected through the International UAS Exam method.

All data is processed and stored within the EU and handled according to GDPR. Data is stored only for as long as necessary for exam administration and review.

Final student selection and results (Spring 2026)

Final selection is based on:

Individual arrangements

If you need individual arrangements (extra time, accessible tasks, etc.) due to:

  • Disability
  • Illness
  • Dyslexia
  • Another comparable reason

…you must submit a separate application with a medical certificate or equivalent statement explaining:

  • Why you need arrangements
  • Which arrangements are recommended (e.g. more time, adjusted task format)

Requests are assessed case by case.
